Meet the EUTOPIA_HEALTH Trainees 2024

The EUTOPIA_HEALTH project aims to enhance the skills and success rates of researchers and research managers (RM) in obtaining European Union (EU) funding. This initiative focuses on training key researchers from the project's Widening country partners through specialised workshops and support tasks. Drawing on the ERASMUS foRMAtion program (2019-2022), which created a robust international curriculum for early-stage RMs, EUTOPIA_HEALTH combines this foundation with professional mobility schemes. This training, assessed at three European universities, sets the stage for developing a strong RM community.

The RM-ROADMAP (2022-2025) and CARDEA (2022-2025) projects evaluate existing RM training programs across Europe, identifying gaps and needs. Leveraging these insights, EUTOPIA_HEALTH will deliver innovative training programs for its partners to cultivate highly skilled professionals in research and innovation (R&I) management. A vital component of this training is the i-ISO approach, first launched by VUB in 2015, which has significantly increased funding success in both H2020 and Horizon Europe (HE). The training consisted of three-day workshops covering:

  • Day 1: EC funding opportunities in and outside HE
  • Day 2: Excellence and impact section
  • Day 3: Implementation section and overall submission procedure

Let's take a closer look at some of the profiles of individuals who have benefited from these training workshops in the three Universities of the EUTOPIA Widening countries, Babes-Bolyai University, University of Lubljana and NOVA University Lisbon
