WEAVE funding opportunity for bilateral or trilateral research projects: open to VUB, Gothenburg, Ljubljana, and TU Dresden
Three to four years bilateral and trilateral collaborative research projects are available for funding in all scientific disciplines. For the researchers from the VUB with the FWO as Lead Agency, the application deadline is the 21st of March.
Weave is a bottom-up cross-European initiative developed by European research funders to support excellent European collaborative research projects across national and regional borders, based on the Lead Agency Principle.
The objective of the call is to advance fundamental scientific research, on initiative of the researcher, in all scientific disciplines. Junior and senior researchers projects can be awarded. Costs of staff, consumables and equipment are eligible for funding. Duration is typically 4 years (Flanders, Slovenia) or 3 years (Germany).
Weave aims to simplify the submission and selection procedure of collaborative project proposals: although administrative submission should be done at the 2 (or 3) involved funding agencies, the Lead Agency is responsible for the entire administrative procedure and scientific evaluation. Each research funder involved is as such responsible for the payment of its own researchers.
For EUTOPIA, this offers opportunities for researchers from the VUB, TU Dresden, the University of Gothenburg, and the University of Ljubljana, to submit a WEAVE proposal. (Proposals with Gothenburg researchers can only be submitted with Formas as Lead Agency).
