"I truly enjoyed this opportunity, it was incredible as an experience and I would love to do it again."
-- Ben
The Learning Community Text and Discourse Analysis organised a Languages in Use Week (from March 7th to March 11th). This was an online event for students who aimed to develop their French, German, Italian, Spanish and English skills.
It focused on practice for students conversational and listening skills. Over the course of six sessions, students from across the EUTOPIA alliance Universities were put into pairs or trios to discuss topics of their choice in the language of their choice. A total of 16 students attended the six sessions.
The closing session also provided students the ability to contribute their views towards the activity and gather feedback on how to build upon lessons learnt for the next one. The conversations were also recorded, in compliance with GDPR regulations. These diverse transcripts will now also be used by students studying Discourse Analysis as research material.
