The pilot project of EUTOPIA (2019-2022) is drawing to a close in November 2022 after three years of existence, having achieved much and more. Six EUTOPIA Weeks, thirty Learning Communities, dozens of positions opened for funded research mobility and fellowship schemes, numerous seminars, webinars, student conferences, workshops… and yet those are only a few of the activities and frameworks put in place by the alliance through its pilot project. Though one project is ending, there is more on the way, both figuratively and literally.
On July 22nd 2022, a reinforced EUTOPIA alliance with ten universities was awarded funding by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ scheme for a new core project, EUTOPIA MORE, with new exciting opportunities in development. On October 18th and 19th, the Vice-rectors in charge of EUTOPIA, the Projects Managers and the Work Package Leaders from all over the alliance gathered at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona to mark the official kick-off of EUTOPIA MORE, whose activities will debut on December 1st, 2022.
The programme focused on the main milestones and future goals of the alliance. On this opportunity, the UPF, who will coordinate the project for the alliance, organised the first meetings of EUTOPIA MORE's task forces and allocated time to team-building exercises and an exploration of the connections between the topics within EUTOPIA.
With this kick-off, EUTOPIA will grow anew with an ambitious project for the next four years.
