Learning Community in Action: The power of design towards inclusive societies
On Friday 25 November 2022 the first guest lecture of the Learning Community Design+Science took place at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Dominique Sciamma, director of École de Design of Cergy Paris Université, gave an online speech on The Power of Design. 18 students in the graphic design from Bachelors and Masters programme in Ljubljana were present. The speech was an exceptional example of a well structured presentation and narration.
The lecture sparked a vigorous debate among students after class. If we try summarise key messages:

- The world would be a better place if we made the best possible decisions and these should be co-created.
- There is greater need to educate designers for their valuable role as decision-makers, and to educate non-designers about the implications and value of design.
- Inclusive design is the only way we will achieve better societies for each and everyone.
