The Learning Community Design+Science is getting ready to launch its multidisciplinary Summer School (10—14 July 2023), on the annual theme of  para-intelligence and  artificial intelligence. Organised by the leads at UoL, alongside the University of Split, FH Joanneum & PiNA; the school aims to provide a collaborative platform that stimulates multidisciplinary approaches and fosters comprehensive perspectives on the important topics of today and tomorrow.

The theme this year, para-intelligence, refers to intelligence beyond traditional cognitive abilities, such as intuition and emotional intelligence. AI is the intelligence of machines that simulate human cognitive functions. Topics will be tackled through lectures, discussions, group work, and hands-on activities to understand their potential impact on our world.

Led by renowned experts at the intersection of design and various scientific fields, the school will allow students (master, PhD and young professionals), to explore why we humans are so interested in creating intelligent systems and how our future will depend on their evolution.

The school is open to participants from the design field but also to related practices such as architecture, art, computer sciences, social sciences, natural sciences and others. A dedicated website will be launched on May 3rd and shared on the Learning Community webpage.
