TRAIN Citizen Science Clinic
An online workshop
WHAT IS IT?
The Citizen Science Clinic is an initiative within the 3rd work package of the EUTOPIA-TRAIN project. It aims to support researchers joining our community of practice on citizen science by providing them with opportunities for exchange and networking. The concept is a series of informal, ‘feasibly timed’, low effort (but very interactive) peer learning sessions. Moderated by Stickydot, this online workshop format is specially designed to share challenges and ideas for your citizen science work.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Any researcher working within one of the partner universities from the EUTOPIA alliance. Are you facing specific challenges in your citizen science work? Would you like an opportunity to share difficulties and feedback? Do you feel you would benefit from some insight from colleagues across Europe? Then this is the place for you.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Each workshop first focuses on one person’s situation. After exploring one person’s challenge, we zoom out to discuss the broader context and how we can all apply these findings to our work. The session is closely facilitated to ensure everyone has a chance to listen and share ideas in a non-judgmental space.
CAN I PROPOSE A TOPIC?
Yes, you can! If you are facing a challenge in your citizen science work that you’d like to share in one of the clinics, and where you think input from European colleagues could be helpful, send an e-mail to floor.keersmaekers@vub.be with a short description (what is the challenge you face, and what have you already tried?). We will get back to you to let you know whether your challenge has been selected for a clinic.
HOW CAN I JOIN?
The sessions are streamed through Zoom.
The next and final clinic, looking back on the lessons learned during this series of peer learning sessions, will take place online on Thursday, May 25th, 16:00 CET.
