Two New Calls for EUTOPIA_HEALTH Researchers

Exciting Opportunities to be Launched on 1 January 2025

The EUTOPIA_HEALTH project, funded by the Horizon Europe Programme, announced the pre-launch on 15 December 2025 of two engaging calls for researchers of the project's consortium, ad especially for those working in health-related topics and affiliated to the three so-called Widening universities, the main beneficiaries of the project: the Babeș-Bolyai University, the University of Ljubljana and the NOVA University Lisbon.

The first call is a Cross-University Mobility Programme for Young Researchers and targets PhD students and early-career researchers (within 8 years post-PhD). They are asked to address health-related challenges through transdisciplinary research and in collaboration with researchers from the non Widening universities of the Consortium: the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, CY Cergy Paris University, the University of Gothenburg, the Pompeu Fabra University-Barcelona and the University of Warwick.

Researchers from 9 countries will be connected via a search engine known as the EUTOPIA_HEALTH Researchers Map. This engine is proving to be an invaluable tool for researchers across various disciplines, all related to health, allowing them to cross-reference their fields and expertise. Participants will undertake research-oriented activities at a host institution under the guidance of a senior researcher or group leader.

The programme will provide 75 mobility months, distributed as 25 per Widening University. The expected distribution is 15 mobility months for 2025-2026 and 10 for 2026-2027.  Click here for more information.

The second call proposes seed funding for health-related research and is mainly devoted to researchers at Widening Universities. It supports collaborative, transdisciplinary research projects within the EUTOPIA_HEALTH consortium and aims to facilitate joint, transdisciplinary health-related research collaborations. It is designed to assist researchers in developing their health-related expertise, advancing their careers, and enhancing their international visibility and networking within the consortium.

A total of six projects (two per Widening University) will be supported through a budget of €120,000 each. The funding lasts for two years.  Click here for more information.

Launched in January 2024, EUTOPIA_HEALTH aims to enhance the scientific management of health-related initiatives, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and strengthen research and innovation (R&I) capabilities. It provides research training and funding opportunities while fostering connections between research, society, businesses, and policymakers to create tailored solutions for societal challenges.
