Three Workshops Conducted by VUB for EUTOPIA_Health Researchers

The VUB team

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) has taken these last two months the lead in organizing and executing workshops aimed at developing EU funding proposals, utilizing its innovative i-ISO concept. These workshops are tailored for researchers and research managers from the three partner universities from Widening countries: NOVA University Lisbon (UNL), the University of Ljubljana (UL), and Babes-Bolyai University (UBB). The selection process, spanning multiple rounds, is rigorous and aims to identify the most promising talents. In the initial phase, 15 researchers (5 by university) were chosen to participate in the workshops and a subsequent 3-year training program. This cohort was carefully selected based on their research prowess and commitment to excellence.

The workshops, held from March to April 2024, were hosted at partner universities in Ckluj, Ljubljana and Lisbon. They covered essential aspects of EU funding application processes, including idea development, consortium building, proposal submission, and evaluation. What sets these workshops apart is their interactive nature, featuring hands-on exercises and quizzes facilitated by VUB's European Research and Innovation Support (ERIS) team, contributing to active participation and engagement among attendees.

Furthermore, the success of these workshops is measured through ongoing assessment, contributing to the overall objectives of the EUTOPIA_HEALTH initiative. The progress achieved so far is promising, laying a solid foundation for future developments poised to significantly contribute to research and innovation in the European higher education landscape.
