The FLECSLAB project team meets at UPF

During the meeting, the latest project activities were reviewed, especially those related to lifelong learning

The Ciutadella Campus hosted a follow-up meeting of the FLECSLAB project leaders from EUTOPIA on Tuesday and Wednesday. About twenty project members, Experts, and Advisory Committee members, as well as teachers and technicians from the EUTOPIA Office, participated.

The main objective has been to monitor the project through various meetings, round tables, and presentations and address the administrative, communicative, and economic management of the project, which UPF participates in and is coordinated by the University of Ljubljana.

The project, which began in January 2022 and will end by the end of 2024, involves the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, CY Cergy Paris University, University of Gothenburg, University of Ljubljana, and University of Warwick, in addition to UPF.

FLECSLAB will document the business cases for a broad sample of lifelong learning (LLL) scenarios. A final and critical stage involves translating the FLECSLAB experience into policy guidelines for academics, industry, and public sector partners. The project team will produce a series of resources that help HE practitioners and policymakers develop LLL pedagogies (WP1: The Lifelong Learning Toolbox) and sustainable offerings (WP2: The Lifelong Learning Business Model).

During the meeting, the latest project activities were reviewed, especially those related to lifelong learning at UPF. A project was indeed launched to train seniors to detect fake news, led by professors from the Department of Communication in collaboration with the fact-checking association Verificat.cat. The initiative is also part of the SUM project (Seniors United against Misinformation), which designs specific tools for adults, seniors, and their environment so they can regain trust in the face of the excess information found on the Internet and social networks.
