New Video Course for Researchers: Make Your Research Reproducible

EUTOPIA has launched a five-part video course, Make Your Research Reproducible, created by Özgün Ünver, Data Steward at Vrije Universiteit Brussel with a focus on Social Sciences and Humanities. Aimed at researchers across disciplines, the course provides a practical guide to strengthening the reliability, transparency, and impact of scientific work. Ünver, having studied various disciplines herself, tries to be as practical and solution-oriented as possible and make Research Data Management easier for researchers.

Ünver explains:

“Reproducibility is vital for the credibility of scientific research. It allows other researchers to verify findings, build upon them, and apply them in practical contexts. When a study is not reproducible, it raises questions about the credibility of scientific findings and can erode the trust in researchers publishing these findings.

This course starts with teaching you the basics of reproducibility in the context of Responsible Conduct of Research, Open Science, and Research Data Management. Subsequently, it goes into detail as to how reproducibility can be achieved in qualitative and quantitative research. Finally, it provides you with tools, resources, and actionable recommendations to help you kickstart your reproducibility journey.”

Training the EUTOPIA research community on reproducibility is closely linked to key reform initiatives such as Open Science. By strengthening rigour and reliability, reproducibility builds trust in science and accelerates progress.

The course covers key aspects of responsible research practices, explores reproducibility in both qualitative and quantitative methods, and introduces practical tools such as data management plans, pre-registration, version control, and reporting guidelines. An accompanying guide is also available on Zenodo.
