EUTOPIA Week Ends on a Grand Note in Lisbon

The Seventh EUTOPIA Week was concluded in Lisbon on a grand note with the conference "Women in Diplomacy" under the pretext of International Women in Diplomacy Day, that is chosen to be celebrated on 24 June.  The event was organised by  MUR@D and  co-organised by EUTOPIA. After the declaration of the day dedicated to women diplomats in 2022, the conference focused specifically on the challenges facing by women in a male-dominated world of diplomacy. There were two panel discussions.

The first one titled, 'Portuguese Diplomats: From the Pioneers to the Future'.  The conference had two-panel discussions. The panel consisted of Ambassador Ana Martinho, Ambassador Francisco Ribeiro Telles, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Matilde Salvação Barreto, Diplomatic Advisor for the President of the Republic. Prof. Nuno Severiano Teixeria moderated the session.

The second one focused on the topic, "What is a Feminist Foreign Policy After All?'. The panel consisted of Ambassador Ana Gomes and Elise Racicot, Ambassador of Canada to Portugal. The session was moderated by Professor Ana Santos Pinto.

The President of Portugal delivered the message through a video and concluded the conference.

The Lisbon chapter of EUTOPIA Week ended with a cocktail and on a promising note to meet in Dresden in December 2023.
