EUTOPIA Groundwater Workshop & Conference 2024

The EUTOPIA Groundwater Workshop & Conference 2024 will bring together scientists engaged in groundwater research to present their work, projects, and initiatives shaping the future of groundwater science and management. This 3-day event will take place at the VUB campus in Brussels from April 22nd to 24th, 2024.

The program includes a 2-day workshop on "Time Series Analysis for Hydrogeologists" conducted by Dr. Raoul Collentour, the lead developer of PASTAS, an open-source Python package to analyze hydro(geo)logical time series. Pastas provides a scientific framework to develop and test new methods as a reliable, ready-to-use software tool for practitioners and researchers engaged in groundwater.

During the one-day conference on groundwater, attendees will learn about strategies for sustainable groundwater management and conservation, gain insights into safeguarding groundwater quality and quantity amidst growing challenges such as pollution, climate change, and competing water demands. The conference aims to enhance the international network of leading experts and researchers.

As part of the EUTOPIA goals, the conference will forge possibilities of collaborations, exchange ideas, and ignite discussions that pave the way for impactful solutions to groundwater problems. The EUTOPIA-Groundwater Workshop & Conference 2024 will unite fellow participants in our shared commitment to preserving this invaluable resource, understanding that managing groundwater is essential for sustainable development and environmental conservation for current and future generations.
