EUTOPIA Central Office is excited to announce its relocation to a freshly renovated office at Usquare.Brussels. Our team is now part of the unique Usquare.Brussels initiative, a transformation of a former military complex into a vibrant, university-centred district. Usquare.Brussels is a joint initiative between Vrije Universiteit Brussel (member of the EUTOPIA Alliance), Université libre de Bruxelles (member of the CIVIS Alliance) and Brussels Capital-Region.
The new office offers more space for the EUTOPIA Central Office team and provides rooms to host meetings with EUTOPIA partners and stakeholders. It is situated in a very fortunate location close to VUB’s EUTOPIA Office, and it is part of a vibrant complex, which also hosts ULB’s CIVIS Office, Brussels Institute for Advanced Studies (BrIAS), and OpenLab.
While moving to a new location, the EUTOPIA Central Office also expanded with the addition of Maëlle Gibbons-Patourel, who joined the team as Senior Policy Officer on 15th September. Maëlle holds a master’s degree in European Project Management from the University of Caen Normandy in France and is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She began her career in EU Affairs in a Social Enterprise in the UK. Then, she moved to the University of Liverpool, where she held several Research Support and Development positions. She eventually led the University of Liverpool’s Horizon Europe team, contributing to shaping the university’s European research strategy. In her new role, Maëlle supports EUTOPIA Secretary General with monitoring EU policies, coordinating EUTOPIA’s governing bodies, and advising on strategic development and funding opportunities for EUTOPIA.
“EUTOPIA has an ambitious vision for the future”, recalls Mattia Bellotti, Secretary-General of EUTOPIA. “The arrival of Maëlle as Senior Policy Officer will help ensure that the Central Office brings an added value to the daily activities and EUTOPIA’s long-term development”.
