Did you know that as many as 1 in 5 adults have a neurodivergent brain? Think of people with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, giftedness, or high sensitivity. While communication is different for everyone, neurodivergent employees often feel misunderstood, which can lead to frustration. Fortunately, with the right approach, we can easily prevent this.
Neurodivergent individuals bring unique perspectives that can enrich the work culture and improve the well-being of all employees. By considering their sensitivities, you gain a significant advantage as a manager, colleague, or team leader.

During the "Neurodiversity in the Workplace" webinar, which is part of the EUTOPIA Diversity & Inclusion month, we will discuss how to improve communication for everyone, with a special focus on neurodivergent employees. We will cover:

  • How to effectively communicate expectations and tasks within your team

  • How to make meetings more efficient and accessible for everyone

  • How to develop an inclusive communication style, both internally and externally.

19 November,  10.30-11.30 - A Book Launch Event: Supervision in social work: learning from success.1st ed. Ljubljana: University of Ljubljana Press, 2024
The Author: Dr. Petra Videmšek is a lecturer at the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Ljubljana. She was the lead for the EUTOPIA Inclusion work package in EUTOPIA2050, which resulted in the EUTOPIA Inclusion Framework and EUTOPIA MORE Inclusion Manifesto. More recently, she has focused on developing the field of supervision, providing training for those wishing to train as supervisors and supporting a range of practitioners in their personal and professional development through supervision sessions. Most recently, in June 2024, she took over the management of the newly established Office for Equality and Inclusion (PEV) at the University of Ljubljana.
“Supervision was, and still is recognised as a necessary part of practice, although a review of literature shows that there is little evidence on what it means in practice (Ming-sum, 2005; Wonnacott 2014)”. This shows the complexity of the supervision process, which entails, amongst others, flexibility and responsiveness to the diverse needs of the group. “It is a lifelong learning process for practitioners”. Welcome to this one-time event, where Petra shares the result of her creative journey with us and engages us in conversations to speak openly and honestly about emotions and situations we face in practice. There will also be time for Q&A.

EUTOPIA MORE Autumn school: Ecological Intelligence (EI)
To think ecologically does not only mean to concern ourselves with the impact that human actions have on our environment; it also requires us to rethink the concepts of agency and intelligence. It demands a fresh look at the concepts of inclusion and diversity. Our autumn School places this task within the scope of what we term "ecological intelligence", defined as the entanglements of human and nonhuman agencies.
