EUTOPIA Research Internship Programme
Join a unique opportunity to intern at leading European universities. As part of our commitment to building a truly integrated European university community, EUTOPIA is launching a new initiative to promote cross-campus student internships among our member universities. This initiative will enable EUTOPIA students to gain valuable skills by interning at research departments and institutions within the alliance. What Is the EUTOPIA Research Internship Programme?
This initiative places students from EUTOPIA universities in an internship at research departments, labs, and academic units at partner institutions. Internships are typically funded through Erasmus+ and are designed to last at least 60 days. While the exact format varies by institution, all participating universities are committed to supporting a student-friendly, flexible, and academically enriching experience.
Why Participate?
- Gain international research experience at a EUTOPIA university
- Receive Erasmus+ support to cover your stay
- Build connections in your academic field across Europe
- Contribute to the EUTOPIA community through shared research and intercultural exchange
- Boost your career with practical and international work experience
Things to Know
- Most internships are offered by research departments and only in exceptional cases by administrative units, Erasmus offices or companies.
- Language can be a barrier—internships are typically in English or the language of the host country.
- Internship windows may vary according the Erasmus+ prerequisites at your home university
- Each university may offer different types of support. Check individual links for details.
How it Works
We are building a service-oriented process to help students find internship opportunities across EUTOPIA:1. Explore Opportunities - Each partner university will share departments or research teams willing to host interns. These opportunities will be listed under the individual university on this page.
2. Apply with Support - Application procedures will vary from university to university. Students may apply directly at some universities, while for others they will get nominated by their home university and need to submit an additional motivation letter. In some cases, students will need to go through a contact person at the host institution.
3. Get Matched - Contact points at each university will forward or follow-up on the status of applications and may be contacted for support.
4. Funding - Students can apply for Erasmus+ funding at their home institutions.
5. Stay Engaged - Once selected, students will be welcomed into the EUTOPIA community at their host institution and invited to join local activities and events.
6. Track and Evaluate - Throughout the internship, the host and home institutions stay in contact to ensure quality, track engagement, and gather feedback for improvement.
Timeline
- Fall 2025: Launch of list of internship opportunities at each partner university
- Starting in January 2026: Internships will commence at different times throughout the year
Get Involved
Whether you are a student looking to broaden your academic horizon, or a faculty member interested in hosting EUTOPIA’s talents, we invite you to be part of this growing exchange network. Each university will post specific internship opportunities, contact information, and guidelines for applicants.Ca' Foscari University of Venice
