Monash in Europe

Monash University’s European presence is anchored by its campus in Prato, Italy - established in 2001 - as well as strategic partnerships like the Monash Warwick Alliance and the Monash University European Research Foundation (MUERF). The Prato campus serves as a hub for international research, education, and collaboration, hosting global programs and research events in a dynamic, multicultural setting.

A cornerstone of Monash University’s European presence is the Monash University European Research Foundation (MUERF), established in 2022 and co-located at the Monash University Prato campus. This not-for-profit, independent research foundation significantly expands Monash's research and innovation programs in Europe by deepening connections with European alliances across higher education, research, and industry. MUERF is eligible to participate as a full partner in European Union funding opportunities, further solidifying our collaborative potential within Europe.

Monash’s commitment to international collaboration is further evidenced by the Monash Warwick Alliance, which has secured more than $36 million in external funding since 2018, a testament to the impactful collaborative projects. Partnering with Monash opens doors to our extensive international campus network across the Indo-Pacific and Europe - offering a dynamic and globally connected platform for collaboration and exchange.

These initiatives collectively offer students and staff rich opportunities for cultural immersion, global learning, and joint research, positioning Monash as a trusted partner and active contributor to the European academic and innovation landscape.
