Uniting for Sustainability and Climate Action: EUTOPIA Day

EUTOPIA is launching its inaugural EUTOPIA Day on May 13th, 2024. For its first edition, this annual event aims to foster dialogue and action on pressing global challenges, with a particular focus on sustainability and climate change. EUTOPIA Day will take place across the member universities of the EUTOPIA alliance, spanning multiple European cities. Each university will organise campus activities, while a central event with rectors, vice-rectors, and experts will occur in the afternoon.

EUTOPIA Day aims to achieve its objectives through three main strategies:

  • Amplifying Visibility: The event seeks to enhance the alliance's presence within the university community, focusing on climate change and engaging relevant faculty.
  • Facilitating Cross-Campus Dialogue: The event intends to foster collaboration through scientific lectures open to the general public, promoting awareness and knowledge sharing on climate change.
  • Empowering Student-Led Initiatives: Central to EUTOPIA's mission is empowering students as catalysts for change. The event sponsors student-led activities to enhance engagement with climate change issues, encourage impactful initiatives, and expand the community of passionate individuals committed to climate action.

Participants in the EUTOPIA Day include faculty, students, support staff and experts in various fields related to sustainability and climate change. This trans-national multi-campus event is envisioned as a platform for collaboration to co-create solutions that drive positive change. With a commitment to rotating themes annually, the event promises to remain involved and relevant, tackling a diverse range of pressing issues and fostering connections toward a more sustainable future.
