FELLOWSHIPS

Our fellowships provide a dynamic range of opportunities designed to support early-career and emerging researchers across EUTOPIA. They are built to promote academic excellence, encourage international mobility, and develop leadership skills in line with European priorities.

Young leaders academy

The Young Leaders Academy (YLA) is our flagship initiative that brings together high-potential early- to mid-career researchers from our member universities and global partners to foster collaboration, leadership, and career growth.

YLA fellows form a vibrant community of independent research leaders, united by shared European values and a vision of a truly interconnected academic environment. They are typically selected 2โ€“12 years after PhD completion and join the Academy for two years. Through tailored leadership training, collaborative research exchanges, and career development opportunities, the YLA empowers them to grow as leaders, innovators, and ambassadors of EUTOPIA within their institutions.

We recruit a new cohort of Young Leaders approximately every two years. Stay tuned and subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear about the next call.

Science & Innovation FellowshipS

The EUTOPIA Science and Innovation Fellowship (EUTOPIA-SIF) programme offers two-year postdoctoral fellowships designed to boost the careers of outstanding early-stage researchers from around the world. It offers a unique opportunity to develop independent research projects while contributing to solutions for todayโ€™s most pressing societal challenges across five research areas aligned with our Research Lighthouses: Materials engineering, data & intelligence, health, welfare & inclusion, and sustainability.

Hosted within our dynamic alliance, EUTOPIA-SIF fellows benefit from a rich, collaborative academic environment that spans multiple leading universities across Europe. Mobility is at the heart of the programme. Each fellowship includes a secondment at a partner university within EUTOPIA and a placement with an external organisation (academic or non-academic), encouraging innovation, real-world impact, and entrepreneurial thinking.
