The EUTOPIA Global Institute is the bridge from education to research, innovation and outreach activities.
The EUTOPIA Global Institute hosts and provides visibility to our research and outreach initiatives, including technological and societal innovation. It supports our activities on a global scale, from research to innovation to science diplomacy and acts as a hub for research and innovation initiatives.
The Global Institute creates the conditions and connections for inter-disciplinary activities tackling global and societal challenges, fostering bottom-up initiatives whilst also addressing our research priorities via the EUTOPIA research lighthouses. The Institute is guided by its Steering Committee, comprising of our 10 Vice-Rectors for Research, part of the governance structure of EUTOPIA.
The EUTOPIA Global Institute currently hosts four Working Groups (Research Managers, Early-Career Researchers support, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, and Research Infrastructures), embedding and operationalising EUTOPIA’s research, innovation and outreach activities within local universities as well as connecting colleagues across the alliance.
The EUTOPIA Global Institute aims to create the right conditions and environment to foster research excellence and collaborations and be the gateway to reach out to society. In doing so, the Global Institute aims to:
- Building a research and innovation community across the Alliance, creating the right environment for connections leading to collaboration;
- Supporting the early-career researcher community via leadership training and networking opportunities;
- Connecting academics, but also managerial and support staff across alliances, leading to cooperation and exchange of best practices, allowing the EUTOPIA R&I community to flourish;
- Stimulating an innovative and entrepreneurial culture at local level but also across the Alliance and beyond;
- Creating a gateway to reach out to society on a local, European and global level whilst promoting European values, bolstering impact.
