The EUTOPIA Doctoral Summer School is an immersive and interdisciplinary experience that challenges PhD students to expand their research horizons. Through teamwork, expert mentoring, and innovative dynamics, participants develop projects that bridge different fields of knowledge, exploring new perspectives and solutions.
From 17 to 21 July 2026, doctoral students from various scientific fields will gather at the Convento da Arrábida, south Lisbon, for an immersive, interdisciplinary and collaborative experience. Over five days, participants will work in teams, receive specialised mentoring, and develop projects that cross different areas of knowledge, broadening the horizons of their research.
In 2025, we welcomed 30 students representing 27 scientific fields, 15 nationalities and 14 schools, proving that interdisciplinarity is the driving force behind new ideas.
Summer school is primarily dedicated to PhD students. Post-docs and MSc students are also welcome to apply. The maximum number of participants is 20.
