Have you ever been tempted to learn more about the universities that make up the EUTOPIA alliance? Your curiosity is justified! Every month, we take a closer look at one of the universities in our alliance. This month of April is the turn of Pompeu Fabra University-Barcelona (UPF), a young, extraordinarily dynamic university which is recognised not only for the outstanding quality of its teaching and research but also for the high standard of its facilities in Barcelona.
UPF is a public university located in Barcelona. It is a highly competitive institution that prioritises research and aims to provide an education that responds to future challenges. The university was established in 1990 with the goal of creating a public institution that would focus on academic excellence and contribute to the country’s development.
UPF has been selective in the areas of knowledge it focuses on, with a specialisation in research and training related to various dimensions of human beings, including biology, communication, and social phenomena.
In the context of major global challenges, UPF has undertaken an imperative commitment as a university institution: to help find solutions for the main challenges facing humanity and the planet, as outlined in the Planetary Wellbeing initiative.
This month, along with the institution’s ID card, we feature an interview and a double profile, plus a series of photos that will help you discover some aspects of UPF’s attractive campuses.
