Tofik Ahmed Shifa received his B.Sc. degree (2007) in applied chemistry and M.Sc. degree (2011) in analytical chemistry from Arbaminch University (Ethiopia) and Haramaya University (Ethiopia) respectively. After working as a lecturer at Haramaya University for about 3 years, he was admitted at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Center for Nanoscience and Technology where he was awarded his Ph.D. in physical chemistry (2018). Then, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Luleå University of Technology (Sweden) for two years (2019-2021). Currently, he is an assistant professor and a Marie Skłodowska Curie Fellow at Ca’Foscari university of Venice (Italy). He conducts research, advises Master/PhD students and teaches courses. His research focuses on controllable synthesis and development of novel materials for electrocatalysis or photocatalysis in green energy production. He is a principal investigator in the field of his expertise.
