The EUTOPIA Matchmaking Tools form a powerful suite of digital and event-based resources designed to enhance research collaboration across the EUTOPIA European University Alliance. They enable researchers and research managers from the ten partner universities to identify complementary expertise, forge interdisciplinary connections, and develop high-impact projects suited to Horizon Europe and other major funding calls.
Central to the ecosystem are the EUTOPIA_HEALTH Research Map — a searchable portal of health-related competences, contacts, topics, infrastructures and collaboration opportunities — and the EUTOPIA Research Portals, which offer access to researcher profiles, ongoing projects, publications and institutional strengths across the alliance.
These digital platforms are complemented by the EUTOPIA Research Days, which feature high-level events during EUTOPIA Weeks. Reserved for researchers and research managers, these gatherings target the alliance’s lighthouse themes, fostering synergies, cross-institutional teams and fundable joint proposals. Recent editions — on cultural heritage (CY Cergy Paris Université, November 2024), AI (University of Warwick, July 2025) and climatic resilience linking heritage and water (Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia, December 2025) — illustrate their growing role in building transformative, excellence-driven research networks across Europe.
