Romania’s Multicultural University

Babeș-Bolyai University is the university with the most complex academic profile in Romania, with three official academic languages—Romanian, Hungarian, and German. Established in 1581, it has the longest academic tradition in the country and represents the largest academic community, with approximately 55,000 members across 15 cities and 12 counties.

UBB is also Romania’s first world-class university (QS***, 2021) and a member of The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, highlighting its international reach and research excellence. Today it operates 22 faculties and hosts advanced research facilities across multiple disciplines.
