As the culmination of the Francophonie celebrations in March, the Connected Community “FrancophonieS and its relationship with the rest of the world” of the European university alliance EUTOPIA will host a symposium in early April: to highlight the breadth of research and work related to these “Francophonies,” but also to engage in the identity, social, political, and cultural questions that may be associated with them in 21st-century Europe. Its purpose is to highlight how relevant a transcultural European identity is today, expressed in French and recognised in an inclusive citizenship that transcends local, regional, and national borders while preserving historical memory.
Aimed primarily at teachers and researchers, this seminar will also be open to students, as well as anyone involved in the field, either in person or online.
The two areas of focus chosen for the occasion are:
- Francophone literatures
- Teaching francophone languages and cultures
These issues will be addressed through presentations, each followed by a discussion.
