EUTOPIA_HEALTH Transdisciplinary Training at UBB – 2025 edition

As part of the EUTOPIA_HEALTH project, UBB invites motivated researchers, including PhD students and postdoctoral fellows, to join an intensive transdisciplinary training in Bioinformatics and Advanced Computational Skills in OMICs, titled From data to biologically relevant information. Short course on how you can retrieve the biology hidden in lists

Trainer: Prof. Éva Csősz, PhD, DSc – Professor of Biochemistry, Executive Committee Member, European Proteomics Association (EuPA), Chair, EuPA Conferences & Communication Committee, Council Member, Human Proteome Organization (HUPO), ELIXIR-HU Training Coordinator

Prof. Éva Csősz is an expert in biochemistry, proteomics, and metabolomics, and will guide the trainees on how to turn raw OMICs data into meaningful biological insights.

Highlights of the Training

  • The nature of the OMICs data

  • Data types: targeted/biased vs. untargeted/unbiased data
  • Publicly accessible proteomics databases, ELIXIR platforms
  • Omics data quality control, missing values, imputation
  • Statistical analysis, differentially abundant proteins (DAPs), FDR
  • Network generation and visualisation – network analysis (String, Cluego, Ingenuity Pathway Analysis)
  • Functional analysis/pathway analysis
  • Biomarker/potential biomarker – criteria for biomarker selection
  • Network analysis and pathway analysis on data downloaded from public repositories
More details about the training programme can be found here.
