What is EUTOPIA? A European Universities Alliance for Transnational Education
EUTOPIA is a dynamic alliance of European universities, founded in 2019 as part of the European Universities Initiative. Standing for “European Universities Transforming into an Open Inclusive Academy,” EUTOPIA is dedicated to creating transnational ecosystems that seamlessly integrate education, research, and innovation.
In response to Europe’s pressing skills shortages, EUTOPIA champions flexible, lifelong learning, promotes mobility, supports multilingualism, and enhances competencies within higher education. Through projects such as EUTOPIA MORE, co-funded by Erasmus+, and EUTOPIA_HEALTH, supported by Horizon Europe, the consortium cultivates inclusive, research-led programmes, joint degrees, and Connected Communities designed to enhance competitiveness, bolster democratic resilience, and foster global engagement.
With over 10,000 students and 400 staff actively contributing to its initiatives, EUTOPIA is committed to empowering diversity-driven excellence for a sustainable future.
