The Master’s programme aims to train specialists capable of analysing, explaining and influencing the circulation of scientific knowledge in the public sphere, in a context marked by crises, digital technologies and scientific diplomacy.
Bilingual and international in scope, the Master’s programme is research-based and prepares students for careers in scientific mediation, socio-technical expertise and scientific diplomacy, as well as for doctoral studies.
This two-year dual-degree programme is delivered jointly by CY Cergy Paris University and Babeș-Bolyai University. Students will spend their first year in Cluj-Napoca and their second year in Cergy, gaining a truly European learning experience.
The programme explores some of today’s most pressing challenges, including:
- Artificial intelligence and its societal impact
- Disinformation and public debate
- Science communication and mediation
- Technology governance and regulation
- Scientific diplomacy and international cooperation
- Digital ethics and data governance
Students will develop analytical, communication, and research skills while working on real-world issues at the intersection of science, technology, policy, and society.
As part of the EUTOPIA alliance, the programme offers a unique international environment, bringing together students from diverse academic backgrounds and countries. The curriculum is taught in English and welcomes applicants from the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and related fields.
