Thomas Reimann is an expert in groundwater management and hydrogeology at the Institute for Groundwater Management at TU Dresden. His expertise lies in the development and application of distributed numerical groundwater models, with a particular focus on karst hydrogeology and complex aquifer systems. He is the current lead developer of the MODFLOW Conduit Flow Process (CFP) and a co-author of MODFLOW-OWHM. He has extensive experience in applied groundwater management, including long-term projects in the open-pit mining industry. His work consistently combines fundamental hydrogeological research with practical water-management challenges. He is the project coordinator of the ERASMUS+ cooperation partnership iNUX (Interactive Understanding of Groundwater Hydrology) and actively contributes to international capacity-building initiatives as a partner of The Groundwater Project and through a leading role in the SYMPLE School of Hydrologic Modeling. For his innovative contributions to academic teaching and digital learning, he has received the TU Dresden Teaching Prize.
