Dr. Roa is a medical doctor, a specialist in Pulmonology and Internal Medicine, and holds a Master’s degree in Education. He also completed a specialization in Critical Care Medicine and was a Pulmonary Fellow at Boston University. Throughout his career, he has held many academic and leadership roles at Universidad de los Andes. Since 2004, Dr. Roa has been an Institutional Member of the Fundación Santa Fe de Bogotá, where he created the Critical Care Medicine Service, which later became a full department. For the past 17 years, he has served as Head of the Department of Internal Medicine. He is currently the Dean of the School of Medicine at Universidad de los Andes.
