Evelien Timbermont is an Assistant Professor in Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Her teaching and research focus on labour law and atypical forms of employment, particularly in relation to other legal domains and disciplines, such as fundamental rights, education law and policy. Combining academic insights with practical experience gained during her years as a practising lawyer at the Brussels Bar, Evelien offers a valuable perspective that connects the realms of scholarly theory and actual legal practice. She teaches a variety of courses at bachelor’s and (advanced) master’s level, supervises PhD research, and contributes to shaping the research agenda of the Brussels Centre for Law, Government and Society (BruCeL). Evelien is involved in various academic networks, including the Belgian Association for Labour Law and Social Security (BEGASOZ), the Academic Network on the European Social Charter and Social Rights (RACSE) and the Education Law and Policy Association (ELA). Her research regularly informs national and international policy discussions, particularly with regard to labour market regulation, social dialogue, and the rights of atypical workers.
