Daniel Todkill is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and Associate Clinical Professor at Warwick Medical School, and a dual appointments with the UK Health Security Agency. He brings extensive expertise in field epidemiology, syndromic surveillance, and applied public health research, with leadership experience spanning regional, national, and international contexts. He is a senior consultant epidemiologist within the Real Time Syndromic Surveillance Team at the UK Health Security Agency. He is internationally recognised for his work on the design, evaluation, and application of syndromic surveillance systems, including pioneering the use of novel data streams to provide real-time public health intelligence at scale. His work focuses on harnessing large, routinely collected health data to inform policy and operational decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and support rapid, evidence-based responses to infectious disease threats and wider health system pressures.
