Alexander Lasch is a linguist whose work focuses on the German language, its development, and its use. His research interests include construction-grammar approaches to contemporary language, indexing and machine analysis in the context of digital humanities, discourse- and domain-specific communication in both historical and contemporary contexts, functional and regional language varieties, and applied linguistics. He is committed to the principles of open access in teaching and research and actively supports the development and use of Open Educational Resources (OER). After holding positions in Munich and Kiel, he became Professor of German Linguistics and Language History at TU Dresden in 2017.
