From 28 June to 1 July, the EUTOPIA alliance will gather at the University of Gothenburg for EUTOPIA Week 2026, bringing together university leaders, researchers, staff, students and global partners from across the alliance.
Held under the theme “Finding Balance. Building Futures”, this year’s event will explore how universities can remain innovative, ambitious and globally engaged while supporting the wellbeing of students, researchers and staff.
The programme will address some of the key challenges facing higher education today, including rapid technological development, geopolitical change and increasing societal demands. Through meetings, workshops and collaborative sessions, participants will reflect on how universities can build resilience, foster inclusive academic communities and create sustainable environments for learning, research and leadership.
The week will feature meetings of EUTOPIA’s governing bodies, the Student Council, and working groups, alongside the EUTOPIA Research Days, the College Education Forum and the Young Leaders Academy Symposium.
The official Opening Ceremony will take place on 29 June at the University of Gothenburg and will include contributions from university and regional leaders, as well as a keynote session on student health and wellbeing.
By bringing together perspectives from leadership, research and student communities, EUTOPIA Week 2026 will provide a platform for dialogue, collaboration and the continued development of the alliance’s shared vision for the future of higher education.
